Shinichi Maruyama




Shinichi's Kusho series consists of twenty-three large-scale color photographs that represent the interplay of black ink and water, both in midair and on white surfaces. Images are captured with a strobe light, with a shutter speed of between 7,500th of a second to 20,000th of a second.http://www.shinichimaruyama.com/

Praxinoscope
All the artwork was created by the director David Wilson. The illustrated, 12" discs are designed to rotate on a record player at 45rpm. A specially sculpted carousel of mirrors is positioned in the centre of the disc and rotated with the artwork in order to create the illusion of a moving image.
