Anchor Labels

Last night, as I was enjoying some beverages at Anchor Brewery, I asked the bartender about their packaging and uncovered this cool story. All of the Anchor labels are hand drawn and designed by this WWII vet named Jim Stitt. It's a pretty amazing feat considering he re-draws the Christmas label every year. The SF Chronicle did a story a couple years back.. check it out here..

Jim Stitt article

Love this quote..

"I try to avoid computerish-looking work," says Stitt. "It's a handmade beer, so the label should be hand-drawn."

!!!

All the proceeds of Anchor's latest beer, the "california lager" (the one with the bear on it) will go to the California State Parks, sooo.. bottoms up!

keep smiling,
