Vintage Food Graphics

I really do not know how to describe this site. It is a collection of vintage graphics seeming to all relate to childhood: cereal packaging, pop culture cartoons, food POS, photos of supermarkets, Halloween makeup kits, candy packaging, fast food happy meal packaging, etc. It's worth a glimpse; especially if you were born in during the year of Tron and Thriller (most awesome year ever!); and you have no recollection of the 1970's.

Hypoglycemic Pinatas

Mark Jenkins is a pranking installation artist. His sculptures are created by wrapping forms with clearwrap and then masking tape, and then placing the outer shell in unexpected places.

Gardening with glass

Seattle glass artist Dale Chihuly once vowed never to show an installation of his at the same place twice. He lied.

The sculptor, this time joined by other renound artists, has his enchanting glass creations on display again at Miami's Fairchild Botanical Gardens. Perhaps an unexpected place to find a collection of expensive, and very breakable glass. Art & Flowers: Chihuly at Fairchild is even open at night starting this week and runs until the 31st of May - the day before hurricane season starts in south Florida.

I'm pretty sure there aren't any cultural activities on the itinerary for the bachelorette/hen party I'm headed to in Miami next month, but I'll try sneaking off to have a looksie inbetween shots at the bar.

reusableags.com

I came across this site while I was looking for more natural materials for Coke packaging and merchandise. The site is a nice collection of recycled and reusable bags, canteens, tools and gear. There are even bags made from recycled rice bags and banner advertisements.

Googled Birthday: Brittany Hull

Brittany's true birthday is on Monday, but Google has informed me that with her current stationing in Iraq (America: fuck yeah!), we may not know when we may see Brittany's return. The online newsletter, Diesel & Dirt, claims that Brittany has been quite busy climbing the ranks to the current level of E4 Specialist. When Brittany is not rolling around in the dirt, she's rolling around on motor bikes (see above). Her yoga-inspired hog straddling is, in her own words, part of her therapy after having been arrested for drug posession and prostitution in Pasqua. Brittany shared her "hull-lotta troubles" on the Tyra Banks show and performed a live rendition of her motorcycle dance to raise awareness of internet predators and how we can do more to protect our children. Brittany also likes puppies and updating her personal blog that gives her a vehicle for "keeping in touch with family and myself."

Brittany, we, and yourself, are very proud!

Drawing Along the Grain

Here are some pretty cool cutting boards that take advantage of the wood grain to create an illustrated scene.

Global Warming = Sexy Swimwear

Diesel has a current campaign marketing some summertime clothing that takes a stab at global warming. Regardless of how you feel about this, the ads are pretty well done.
