Dye Hard Boiled

Not even the surfaces of natural packaging were safe from the hands of our meddling employees last week. Our Easter egg dying party last week showcased all the traits of a proper Turner Duckworth design: Clarity (David's egg simply pronouncing the word "egg"), Iconic Branding (Tyler's Coca-Cola ribbon egg), and not-always-knowing-when-to-leave-well-enough-alone (Chris's eventually black egg).

"Box Bottle Bag" Book Launch Party with Plenty of TD Attendance

Andrew Gibbs, Dieline blogger and now Author of "Box Bottle Bag" was the focus of his book's launch party yesterday in LA. Featured in the book, and generously displayed on a front table, were many of Turner Duckworth's designs.

Update: Flattery Turns to Fright

More photos of TDSF have showed up online. One Flickr user comments on his own photos of the TD building by saying, "More Turner Duckworth Lust" and "I know I can make you happy" and "Let me caress your sugar walls."

Jamba Juice's ‘Non-Corporate’ Identity

Hi Everyone,

I thought you'd enjoy reading the press release (below) that we issued today on our Jamba Juice work. I'll be sure to post all future releases on the TD blog so you can stay informed on our PR efforts. You can also view the release online here: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/070718/aqw025.html?.v=20

Turner Duckworth Creates a ‘Non-Corporate’ Identity for Jamba Juice®

San Francisco & London, July 18, 2007 – International design firm Turner Duckworth has created a new Jamba Juice® visual identity system to help communicate and celebrate the brand in a contemporary, entertaining and engaging new light.

“Today’s consumers are more discriminating than ever. They recognize and reward authentic, honest brands that show a true passion for what they do,” says David Turner, Head of Design at Turner Duckworth San Francisco.

The challenge, says Turner, “was creating a highly distinctive visual language with a consistent personality that also feels spontaneous and fresh every time you see it. It’s a ‘non-corporate’ identity.”

The innovative new design system gives Jamba Juice the ability to keep its identity fresh and lively. A plentiful menu of vibrant colors, bold textures, handwritten type treatments and exuberant imagery can be blended in myriad combinations to create in-store graphics, posters, brochures, packaging and promotions. The result is a visual identity system that exudes energy, fun and natural goodness.

“Jamba Juice’s passion is helping people to lead healthy, active lifestyles and to have fun doing it,” says Turner. “They’re all about making wholesome nutrition accessible, delicious and fun. Our new design system emphasizes the genuine qualities that make Jamba Juice an exceptional and exciting brand.”

TD London portrait (Simpsons-style)

Hey there all you TD San Franciscans. We've created a portrait of the TD London crew using the Create-your-own-avatar function from the Simpsons movie website (plus a teeny bit of Photoshop).

See if you can guess who's who......

GoogleMaps: Bringing the two offices closer together

In this day and age of GPS technology, why not take your next travel arrangements into you own hands and save a little cash on the way. With services such as GoogleMaps now offering such clear directions from place to place, getting from A to B has never been easier.

Here's a route David might like to consider for his next travel from San Fran to London. (Tip: You might want to consider packing goggles for Step 31.)

Adobe Lightroom

Adobe Lightroom, an application for professional photographers, was finally released. We did concepts on the logo and packaging. Though we did not see this project through development, it seems the final packaging harkens back to our original concept: a chosen slide on a contact sheet/building facade.

Mass customization: stamps

The era of mass customization also includes making your own stamps. You no longer need a design contract with the USPS to make the next stamp just 25 to 60 extra.
