Every designer's childhood dream has come true — a full-scale house made of LEGO bricks. British television presenter, James May, and a group of volunteers are currently erecting the 2-story home in Dorking, UK. Overall, the structure will be comprised of over 816,000,000 LEGO pieces.

For those across the pond, '411' is the number you dial on your phone for general information. 411 is also the number of postings (as of this post) on TD's blog. What a better way to celebrate than to aid your general information with searchable keys on the blog. After a tedious and patient year, every article has been tagged and is now searchable!

Some quick notes on this update:

1. The search is not perfect and may require entering a few words (e.g. a tag may have a British spelling versus an American one).

2. Some keywords pop up more often than others, so that may give you an idea on what to search the blog for — such keywords as: illustrators, photographers, typography, concept, turner, duckworth, pictures, birthday, design.

3. Please help this utility become even more useful! Over the past few months, I have made an effort to blog more about illustrators, typographers, photographers with the thought that we may want to use them on a project. If you find yourself having a similar though, blog it!

A quick reminder on how to blog (and tag your postings):

1. Go to turnerduckworth.blogspot.com.

2. Username: turnerduckworth@gmail.com, Password: duck!e.

3. Click on "new post".

4. Enter your subject line, write the body text, and add any images you would like to include. The images load best when they are under 300K. Otherwise, the loading time may crap out.

5. At the bottom of the screen there is a bar called "Labels for this post". Enter any and all searchable terms for this posting. Type in too many, because you never know how someone is going to search the blog (e.g. when I have blogged a website, I have entered the tags "web", "website", webpage" so that it is even more easily searchable). Also, try to separate out words with commas (i.e. "graphic, design" is more easily searchable than "graphic design" since it is searching for individual words and not the whole phrase).

6. Click on "publish post" and your article will be immediately posted to the blog. An e-mail will be sent to everyone subscribed to the Exclamations blog.

7. Before you finish, click on "sign out" on the upper right of the screen.

Ink Calendar

Designer, Oscar Diaz, has designed a paper calender with numerical days that appear daily through the slow absorption of ink into the paper. Each month has a separate sheet of paper with a separate well of ink whose color changes based on popular perception of the month (e.g. April would be green to relate to Spring).
