Project Glass

Google's new concept eyewear works as a responsive computer so you are one step closer to being that awesome cyborg... that can do only hipster things like play the ukelele and go to the coffee truck with Paul and not work during the day.

Strange Bedfellows

Designed by Dzmitry Samal as a unique concept for beverage cans, this can design utilizes a process called impact extrusion, where an aluminum slug is pressed at a high velocity with extreme force into a die/mold by a punch.

Looks more like the aluminum can and Metallica album artwork have gotten kinda cozy while cruising the award circuit together this year...

Does this dress make me look phat?

BMW's concept car, GINA, rethinks the skin of an automobile. Riding with the notion that the frame of the car upholds structural integrity absorbs crash impact, BMW designers are toying with the shell of a car being completely made of cloth. The cloth skin seeks a new emotional perspective on the automobile. The skin will open at seams to reveal the engine or headlights. Brake lights will appear and disappear through the translucent fabric. The entire car is capable of changing shape at the driver's will.

C+O+O+L

BRIX is a multimedia phone that can connect to other BRIX phones to create endlessly larger displays. This is a "bringing people together" tactic that Sony only wishes it could execute this well.

Some Serious Coffee Time

The Yunessun Spa Resort in Hakone, Japan, has 25 specialized pools you can bathe in. Some, like the Roman Bath, Turkish Sauna, the Deep Sea Bath are fine and dandy. The more infamous pools allow you to bathe in your favorite beverage. There are pools of saké, coffee, tea, and wine.

Yes, good morning: the world is strange.

Anti-Packaging

Beck's new album, "The Information", contains no cover art; yet. Aside from the cd, the contents of the jewel case contain grid paper and stickers. These are the tools for the consumer to use when creating the cover art for the album. There is a website where the consumers can upload their designs for a competion where the winning art will be printed for the second pressing of the album.

Locust Folding Bike Study

"Major goal of the new design is to offer full-valuable bike with great ability to be folded, stored in small spaces (cases, car trunks etc..)"

Ironically enough, Lisa and I faced the issue of fitting a large bike into the backseat of her car a couple of months ago. The Locust bike is only a concept at this point.
