Wingin' It
Steve Lovelace took iconic logos and replaced their lettering with Wingdings. It's a nice testament to how iconic (some more than others) these marks are.

Sol Sender, now a strategist at VSA Partners, was recently interviewed about the creation of the Obama 'o8 logo and identity. When he evaluates the tired field of American political identities and tells the viewer how a team with branding experience can really shake things up to give a more in-depth approach, one could draw a parallel to our work on Metallica.
