Thanks for the Visual

Live Surface contains an incredible amount of visuals read for graphics. For a decent fee, you can purchase any surface (box, bottle, billboard, etc.) as a layered photoshop file. The site allows you to preview not only the image, but also the layers palette.

kameraflage

Taking advantage of the fact that digital cameras can pick up more colors than the human eye, kameraflage has created a line of clothing that contain elements that are only visible through digital photographs.

Turner Duckworth Creates a ‘Non-Corporate’ Identity for Jamba Juice®

San Francisco & London, July 18, 2007 – International design firm Turner Duckworth has created a new Jamba Juice® visual identity system to help communicate and celebrate the brand in a contemporary, entertaining and engaging new light.

“Today’s consumers are more discriminating than ever. They recognize and reward authentic, honest brands that show a true passion for what they do,” says David Turner, Head of Design at Turner Duckworth San Francisco.

The challenge, says Turner, “was creating a highly distinctive visual language with a consistent personality that also feels spontaneous and fresh every time you see it. It’s a ‘non-corporate’ identity.”

The innovative new design system gives Jamba Juice the ability to keep its identity fresh and lively. A plentiful menu of vibrant colors, bold textures, handwritten type treatments and exuberant imagery can be blended in myriad combinations to create in-store graphics, posters, brochures, packaging and promotions. The result is a visual identity system that exudes energy, fun and natural goodness.

“Jamba Juice’s passion is helping people to lead healthy, active lifestyles and to have fun doing it,” says Turner. “They’re all about making wholesome nutrition accessible, delicious and fun. Our new design system emphasizes the genuine qualities that make Jamba Juice an exceptional and exciting brand.”

I got a rise out of this...

This WWF billboard uses the shifting daylight to "graphically" depict a rise in water levels.

Innovative spirit packaging

TY KU is a premium liqueur distilled from Sake that is about 40proof (seems to be a trend of mid-stregth spirits out there!). The coolest thing is that the bottle lights up as you pour it! I think there is a light and battery at the bottom of the bottle that has a motion sensor. Check it out at www.trytyku.com.

TD London portrait (Simpsons-style)

Hey there all you TD San Franciscans. We've created a portrait of the TD London crew using the Create-your-own-avatar function from the Simpsons movie website (plus a teeny bit of Photoshop).

See if you can guess who's who......

Joanne's favorite "project"

Here's China, otherwise known by friends and family as "The Bunny". Leaving work is more of a pleasure since I'm coming home to this.... (oh, and my husband too).

Night at the Impala

A hearty injection of margaritas and tortilla chips capped our evening with Bruce Duckworth at the Impala. Perhaps the tequila was deceiving our vision, for Bruce was able to sneak out before any photos of him were taking. Well, no photos until we discovered him on the beach the next morning...

Ma Jun Ceramics

Chinese artist, Ma Jun, has reinterpretted every day, mass produced items as one-of-a-kind pieces of art. It's interesting to look at a boombox and a tv as artfully as we think of vintage items of years ago that were once very ordinary.

The cups and vases are actually Coca-Cola cans and bottles.

Bedtime Stories

Tiago da Fonseca has designed a comforter that consists of layers of sheets that are bound in the center as a giant book. As you read and turn each "page", the layers stack and you become warmer (or cooler depending on what side of the bed you are sitting).
